Metal Friday: Woods of Ypres – Travelling Alone

Almost a metal saturday, but right in time (if i can finish this post in about 4 minutes). I’ve been making a shortlist for my yearlist, trying to list all albums i heard this year that made an impact on me, which is almost 60 albums so far.
One of those albums, and an album i don’t listen enough to, is Woods 5 from Woods of Ypres.

Lyrically it can get a bit cheesy, but i really like this album. Reminds me of the mid ’90’s when bands like Tiamat/Type O Negative where still new and exciting. Those are also bands that come to mind when listening to this album. Add a little Katatonia in that mix and you have a nice idea how this sounds.
