Years and years ago (around ’96) i went to the same bar every weekend. One of the ‘benefits’ of being a regular was that you could (and still can) DJ. Which meant shoving your musical taste down all of the visitors throats. At that time i was really into discovering new bands (nothing really changed btw), buying new cd’s every saturday with a friend. One saturday on a very sunny and hot day we once again went to the city (i lived in a little village then, so going to the city was still a major event) and that day i ao. got the In the Woods.. – HEart of the Ages album. We had to DJ that night and after playing our music all night at around 3 or 4 am it was time to clean up. Being out of cd’s to play i put this on, having it only heard once in the store i put it on not really knowing what to expect. But somehow this completely suited the atmosphere that night of cleaning up the place with a few friends after a long, warm and tiring night. We ended up playing the entire cd before heading home. Amazing evening.
Especially the first song got us hooked on this album, after a bit of a quiet, hesitating start the song really gets going at the 3.50 mark with that very intense scream.
