Movie: Wild Target

The Japanese movie i wanted to see had no subtitles and since my Japanese isn’t as good as it should i decided to watch Wild Target instead.

Wild Target is about Vincent Maynard, an assassin who likes to live in peace and quiet. While he has a great reputation amongst his fellow assissins he finds it hard to please his demanding mother. One day he gets the job to kill Rose, a girl that sold a fake painting to a businessman. A normal chore but it turns out to be a bit messier than planned when he doesn’t kill her and agrees to protect the girl and a random guy instead.

While not being the most funny or brilliant movie around Wild Target sure is amusing. Bill Nighy does well as the classy, clean assassin while the charming Emily Blunt does well in messing up things. Rupert Grint is a bit of a fifth wheel in this movie in my opinion, but the scenes he is in he does well.

If you are looking for something funny, British and not too complicated. Wild Target might just be the perfect movie for that.
